We specialize in organic produce, farm fresh eggs, pure maple syrup, honey, and free range meats and fowl, including our freshThanksgiving turkeys. Our goal is to provide safe and healthy food in a way that is natural and environmentally friendly.
MissionOur mission is to grow and produce delicious and healthy food organically and offer these products in an open fashion. We aim to protect our corner of the earth by improving and sustaining the health of our land and to raise our animals in a humane manner.
Farm Happenings
Not only did spring start early this year but summer did also. The weather has been excellent for growing and everything ripened early. Last week we got over 2 inches of rain and there is still standing water in the fields. The winter squash crop looks great and the garlic has been harvested and dried.
The Lake Superior Sustainable Farming Association puts on the Harvest Festival and Energy Fair in Bayfront Park each September. This year it's on September 11th. There is the best farmers market in the Northland at the festival. Hope to see you there.
"... there is a frightful debauchery that has already been effected by a century of mechanization... take taste in its narrowest sense - the taste for decent food. In the highly mechanized countries, thanks to tinned food, cold storage, synthetic flavouring matters, etc., the palate is almost a dead organ." George Orwell, "The Road to Wigan Pier" 1937 |
